Me
I’ve always had plenty of what’s good and beautiful around me. Fairy tales and drawings. Music and sports. Not any kind of sports, but specifically rhythmic gymnastics, which lead to European and then world championships. Studies in design and many years creating tailor-made clothing followed. And then I fell in love with jewellery.
When designing a piece of jewellery, I am always aware of its relationship to the individual. This tiny item has the ability to evoke a number of emotions and often becomes part of one’s life history. Jewellery has the power to symbolize whatever meaning we assign to them. Knowing that the things I create make people happy, I cannot be more satisfied.
Idea
Sometimes I want to bring the idea to life regardless of styles, materials and the aesthetics of my collections. In other words, when creating brooches I go exploring a random artistic idea – or, occasionally, a string of ideas – without even attempting to relate them in any way with my other works or fit them into my personal “creative tradition”. I simply allow myself to embark on a little trip in the search for forms and aesthetics.
Aš
Šalia manęs visąlaik buvo daug to, kas gera ir gražu. Pasakos ir piešiniai. Muzika ir sportas. Ne bet koks sportas – meninė gimnastika. Europos, pasaulio čempionatai. Vėliau – dizaino studijos ir daugelis metų kuriant drabužius. Kol susižavėjau juvelyrika.
Kurdama papuošalą galvoju apie jo santykį su žmogumi. Šis mažytis daiktas dovanoja įvairiausių emocijų, neretai tarsi užmezga su žmogumi tam tikrą ryšį ir tampa jo gyvenimo istorijos dalele. Papuošalams kiekvienas mūsų sukuria savas prasmes, o aš tenoriu vieno – kad mano darbai džiugintų.
Idėja
Kartais norisi įgyvendinti idėją nevaržant savęs nei stilistika, nei medžiagų pasirinkimu. Ir juolab nesiejant begimstančio kūrinio su vienos ar kitos kolekcijos estetika. Galima pasakyti ir kitaip: kurdama seges aš galiu nevaržoma realizuoti vieną kitą padriką savo kūrybinę mintį (o kartais ir visą minčių vėrinuką) nesiekdama aiškių sąsajų su kitais savo darbais ir savosios „kūrybinės tradicijos“ tęstinumo. Paprasčiausiai leidžiuosi į nedidelę kelionę – formų ir estetikos paieškas.
